Features of glass fibre reinforced plastic sheets.

(7)Low modulus of elasticity: the modulus of elasticity of glass fibre reinforced plastic sheets is 2 times larger than that of wood but only 10 times smaller than that of steel, so the product structure often feels less rigid and easily deformed. Glass fibre reinforced plastic sheets are less tough and more brittle than plastics without the addition of glass fibre;

Due to the addition of glass fibre, the melt viscosity of all materials increases and the flowability becomes worse, and the injection pressure is much higher than that without the addition of glass fibre.

Due to the addition of glass fiber and additives, glass fibre reinforced plastic sheets' moisture absorption performance is greatly enhanced, the original pure plastic does not absorb water will also become water absorption, therefore, injection molding are to enter the drying.

In the injection molding process, the glass fiber can enter the surface of plastic products, making the surface of the products become very rough and spotty. In order to obtain high surface quality, it is better to use mold temperature machine to heat the mold when injection molding, so that the plastic polymer can enter the surface of the products, but it cannot achieve the appearance quality of pure plastic.

After the glass fiber reinforced, glass fiber is a very hard material, the auxiliary high temperature volatilization is a very corrosive gas, the screw of the injection molding machine and injection mold wear and corrosion is very large, therefore, the production of molds and injection molding machines using such materials, pay attention to the surface corrosion treatment of equipment and surface hardness treatment.
