Almost nothing. Because FRP Profiles are corrosion resistant and UV stable, you don't actually need to perform any type of maintenance on them. Fiber-reinforced plastics (FRPs) are composite materials that are unique and valuable raw materials in many ways. One of the most attractive properties of FRP Profiles is that they can be adapted to almost any environment - especially those where traditional materials have a short life span and require a lot of maintenance.
FRP Profiles, on the other hand, require virtually no maintenance, even in environments with harsh elements such as corrosive material exposure, UV exposure and electrical hazards.
How do FRP Profiles resist corrosion?
Fiber-reinforced plastics are highly regarded for their corrosion resistance properties as well as their ability to resist abrasion. Because FRP Profiles are composite materials; they combine glass fibers and polymer resins to create a unique material; once combined, both components perform specific functions.
Fiber bundles are responsible for much of the strength found in FRPs, and the resin provides resistance to corrosion and direct stress on the fibers. Because the resin is thermosetting, FRP Profiles do not melt when heated, so this material is non-melting.
